Lewinson Arts goal is to spread art all over the world, in the page Amigos a los que les gusta Lewinson Art, every month chooses an artist to interview, in February 2024, the artist Magda Zautashvili was choosen, for the quality and beauty of her art works, congratulations.

1. Where are you from?

I am from Georgia. No, don't think the state is Georgia. It is a small country on the Black Sea coast. A country where wine and wine culture are interwoven like vines.

2. In your artistic life what interesting experiences have you had?

I loved to draw since I was little. I often looked at the pictures drawn by other artists, and it was some inaccessible world for me. When I was 13-14 years old, we went with my tutor to R. At Fetviashvili's exhibition, something woke up in me and started to stir. His works evoked great emotions and desire (to paint too) in me. Perhaps this was the first push, because of which, after graduating from school, I entered an art school and there I mastered the art of drawing and painting more deeply.

3. What interests you to express in your art work?

I always strive to convey to the audience the feelings and emotions that I experience, and I want to portray all of this in my works in a way that is acceptable and understandable to everyone. Someone may not understand abstraction or surrealism, but everyone can perceive colors. And this is the one that touches the feelings that are hidden in all of us.

4. Do you have a special style?

I don't know, maybe it is. I do not belong to any order. Some are abstractionists, some are surrealists. I probably took both styles and made something of my own. I paint as I see and feel. And I'm not trying to follow any sequence or blame. The most important thing for me is if the audience understands and feels what I have shown in my works. 

5. Have you had an exhibition that you consider the most important or interesting, for some reason?

I have not had any exhibitions. Because I had to study and later work during a period when great changes were taking place in our country. It was the period of war and struggle for the independence of Georgia. No one was tired of art and paintings.

6. What are your favorite artists and why? This is such a question to ask a child: do you like ice cream or chocolate more?

I have seen the works of many artists and all of them are unique and inimitable for their era. As I already told you, R. Fetviashvili is one of the artists who awakened this hidden power in me and made me decide to become an artist. However, I would choose one more, this is Salvador Dali. This is not only my favorite artist, but his work caused great interest and emotional explosion even in high school. He was so extravagant and unworldly for me that I was even interested in every detail of his biography, let alone his work. He somehow reminded me of a person who stayed behind the everyday and fuss of this life and looked at us from his world. He was, is and will be one of the unknown and favorite artists for me.

7. Do you want to transmit some message with your work?

With these works, I want to show people how little time is allocated for us to know and see the beauty and uniqueness of this world. We should appreciate Tito's day and share with each other only the emotions that we feel at this moment. Art is one of the things that make this world beautiful.

8. What does art mean in your life?

Art in my life is a means of expression. I was able to be who I really am and not wear the mask that society demands of me.

9. Which techniques do you like to work with?

I work both in graphics and painting. But currently I have chosen to work with acrylics. It turned out to be more accessible and much more convenient for me.

10. What would you do to bring art closer to people?

I would try to let as many people as possible see my works as well as those of other artists, because so many conditions have been created for this. You want social networks and other questions. That's why I want to thank all of you who participated in the creation of this group and who give so many artists the opportunity to express themselves.
