Desperate Dances is inspired by a song of that title composed by Nigel and will be included on an EP soon. The print involved a colour wash pencil drawing, a pen and ink drawing and a scan of an actual frame. All three layers were combined in a graphics program and then printed.

Birds With Baggage is one of the first gouache and acrylic paintings in this loose series. It began as a doodle and developed as a light hearted reflection on life.

Bird Flies Over is a depiction of a line in a song Nigel wrote entitled The Gist. It began as a gouache that was then transformed in a graphics program. For example, extra flowers were brought in from another painting and the figure was recoloured. The song is soon to be released on an EP.

Icon Possibilities is a recent looser approach to making work incorporing Nigel's developing use of symbols and iconography. This is a giclée print taken from the acrylic marker and wash painting.

Talavera Flowers is an acrylic pen drawing on black paper from a short series inspired by a visit to Puebla, Mexico, available here as a print.

Nigel perfoms his music with his various bands Cushion the Blow for rocky, folky styles and Music from the Sofa; jazz, contemporary classical.
